Settling in at Mountain Meadows RV park

Today was a short drive day in terms of distance (270 miles), but a long day in terms of hours. We didn't get on the road until 10:30 and lost an hour when we got into Montana and the Mountain Time zone. Between last stops for groceries, lunch, & potty stops, we didn't get into our park, Mountain Meadows, until almost 5pm. So far the park seems nice, but we've only seen the office and our spot. We do have a fire pit which is exciting because we haven't been able to build a fire in a long time. We're looking forward to steaks cooked over a fire. Part of the reason the drive took so long was that we're 130 miles off the interstate. We drove a lot of windy roads. But even though this park doesn't have cable, and it looks like we won't have cell phone service for the next week, we at least have wifi, so we can update our blog and email our friends.

Two things you must do if you have time 1)drive the going to the sun road and two drive up to Waterton Lakes (just accross the Canadian border) and have lunch at the historic hotel. Check our blog for pictures as we were just there in July. Enjoy your last months of a great lifestyle.

The people who run the Mountain Meadow RV Park are the most unfriendly folks I have run into. We had some friends stop in to our site without notifying the office. One took a shower without knowing he was required to Pay an extra guest fee. Without allowing us to to corect the misunderstanding, the lady owner yelled at us and told us to pack up and get out. When I offered to pay, she gladly accepted my offer and charged $20 for the shower and still told us to get out. We will never go back to such a draconian environment.

If you go there be sure to read all the rules and signs and follow them to a tee.

Sorry that happened to you. That is kind of strange that someone would visit you and take a shower in the park but not in your RV. We had a great time there and would go back in a minute....if we still had an RV.
