Running errends on last day in Hot Springs
Yesterday we got back to the moho just as it was starting to rain around 2:30pm. We just hung out surfing, reading and watching TV until we went to bed. For Rich that was when he fell asleep in front of the TV with Snuggles around 8:30pm. (See pic above). During the storm we saw a flash of lightening that looked like it was 10' in front of the RV, followed by the loudest and longest crack of thunder I'd ever heard. It kept going and going, as it echoed throughout the hills.
Today we were up at 6:30am to get our moho loaded up to get it to the Ford dealer in Little Rock, 40 miles away, when it opens so we can get in & out. While it was being worked on, we took Snuggles and went to Starbucks. We left her in the car since it wasn't too cold or hot outside. We sipped cappuccinos while Rich was the wheeling, dealing, businessman. Once the RV was done and we got 'er back into our campground spot, we had enough time to have lunch and get the Suzuki into downtown Hot Springs for a brake inspection. We needed this because when we last towed it, the safety cable for the supplemental brake system broke loose, engaging the brake, and "dragging" the Zuki for about 10 miles before we noticed it. $40 later we found out the Zuki's brakes were fine (Whew!), so back to the RV we went. The main drag into Hot Springs and back out to Little Rock is State Rte. 70, which seemed to have bloomed overnight with colors in this bright, sunny day (temp of 65). I was saying to Rich that this is the latest we've ever see colors bloom, but also the latest we've seen leaves on trees.
Tomorrow we loose internet for awhile. Hopefully we'll have it in the next 3 days at the longest. I can still get emails on my phone, fortunately. Tomrrow we leave Hot Springs to head over to Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Nothing special there other than a place along I-40 to stop for the night. After that, we'll be in Elk City, OK; then Tucumcari, NM, then possibly Roswell, NM;, then Albuquerque, then Sedona, AZ, then Kingman, AZ, then Barstow, CA, and finally Santa Barbara by Nov. 22.
